How can a fox ever be happy without a chicken in its teeth?

I watched Fantastic Mr Fox this week. It was the first proper book I ever learnt to read, so I was expecting to be let down by the movie. But its beautiful and heart-warming and quirky and beautiful. Go watch.

"They say all foxes are slightly allergic to linoleum, but it's cool to the paw - try it.
They say my tail needs to be dry cleaned twice a month, but now it's fully detachable - see?
They say our tree may never grow back, but one day, something will.
Yes, these crackles are made of synthetic goose and these giblets come from artificial squab and even these apples look fake - but at least they've got stars on them.
I guess my point is, we'll eat tonight, and we'll eat together. And even in this not particularly flattering light, you are without a doubt the five and a half most wonderful wild animals I've ever met in my life.
So let's raise our boxes - to our survival."

"Ash, I know what it's like to feel...different."
"I'm not different, am I?"
"We all are...
But there's something kind of fantastic
about that, isn't there?"

Happy 21st my darlings

So this weekend 2 of my favouritest people ever had their 21sts.
On Saturday we all went to Bergvliet Sport's Club for Emma's Prom 21st. The hall looked amazing, all pink and black with tons of balloons, disco balls and glitter. Our speech went pretty well I thought, running through all of Emma's men took a while tho :P Then we had supper, lamb burgers with aubergine for the others, and lentil curry in a roti for me...yumyum! We danced for a while and then off to Tantra (lol at us) for some drunkenness. Great night all in all. Happy birthday Emzor!

All of us girls (super geigh but cute)
Finally got to see Ryan :) :)
My spamwise and I
My punkrock prom queen Jessi :)
The birthday girl in her prom dress
Then on Sunday we went to Cape Town Fish Market for Kez's 21st! The food was amazing, I had veggie sushi and veggie noodles, nomnom. Then we went back to Kez's house for an amazing tea and speeches. A brilliant ending to the weekend. Happy birthday my Kezzles :)

Oh shit, it's me again.

I haven't blogged for way too long...sometimes words don't come easily.

So for the past 2 weeks I have been working with my Lisaloo (one of my favourite people in the world, for reals) on a VisCom speed brief. Now a 2-week brief (which could definitely have used 3 weeks), PMS, a thousand other things to do, as well as an average of 2 hours of sleep a night could have led to Lisa never talking to me again. But no, we had such a good time together we're doing this brief as a group too! Ah, bless. So for the past 2 weeks we have been illustrating many random things, ironing serviettes and printing tablecloths. Which would probably never have happened without copious amounts of junk food, red bull shots, Friends, and Ivan's potato-peeling skills :)

Here are some of my favourite illustrations we did (stolen off Lisa's blog):
